Quality. There's many different travel suppliers - ocean cruise lines, river cruise lines, tour companies, hotels, etc. Once you book a vacation, a lot of your experience rides on their performance. Using a quality travel supplier will go a long way to ensuring a great vacation experience.

In ocean cruises, there are several generic categories that are used to describe various suppliers. There's mass market - think Carnival and Royal Caribbean. There's premium lines like Celebrity, Princess, Holland America. And then there's luxury brands. (Oceania and Azamara would add an additional category between premium and luxury for their brands). Regent is surely a luxury brand.

We've all seen the TV advertisements for Royal Caribbean or Carnival right? If you are a certain age, you're mail box is probably inundated with marketing materials from Viking and Oceania. And if you are looking at Bridal magazines, you're no doubt familiar with Sandals resorts. So as a consumer, the question is - who else is out there and how do you find them? For our purposes we'll use the term "alternative suppliers" as those that don't advertise direct to consumers.
