It's been a while since our last blog post.  Why?  Frankly, the travel world was a bit depressing during COVID.  Not things I want to dwell on.  But it seems we're entering a period where we can actually talk about travel again. And more importantly, we can actually travel to real places. So let's get back up to speed with river and ocean cruising.

Every once in a while we like to take a break from the daily grind to look at what's happening in travel news.  So here we go:

It certainly seems like things are looking up.  Travel things that is.  I've been busy booking trips again - after the long pandemic pause, it's good to see people traveling again.  But as verification of that, consider the following

One segment of the travel industry that gets lots of press is the US ocean cruise companies like NCL or Royal Caribbean.  They have been dueling with the CDC for over a year as to when they will be allowed to sail.  Recently, the state of Florida has dictated that cruise lines can not require vaccination as a pre-requisite for boarding.  But what does that really mean?  Recently Royal Caribbean (RCCL) clarified what that means .  Here's a summary:

We were talking to our Scenic Luxury Cruises business development representative today and they told us about something new - a yacht! This is being offered by their Emerald brand and is very intriguing so we thought we share some information.

January 2021 saw some notable ocean cruise news:  Royal Caribbean sold the Azamara brand.  Let's see what this all means.

One thing we know is that how you travel in the future will be different than how you've traveled in the past.  Remember traveling before 9/11?  No TSA for example.  Well, we know things will be different based on COVID related learnings.  This post takes a look at a few examples
